Dr. Elizabeth Holloway, a full professor and psychologist, has had over 25 years experience as a practitioner, trainer and consultant in relational practice with organizations, groups, trainers, and mental health clients. She has held faculty appointments at the Universities of California, Utah, Oregon, and Wisconsin where she has led research in the areas of supervision, mentoring, coaching, communities of practice and toxic personalities at work. She has conducted teaching workshops on her models of practice in:

During her academic career, Elizabeth has received numerous grants and awards for her research including being named a Fellow of Counseling Psychology by the American Psychological Association and the American Educational Research Association Research Award. In 1998 she was 1 of 5 faculties chosen for the prestigious Leadership Fellow program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has served on numerous governing bodies for universities and professional organizations including the University Senate, Conduct Committee, Accreditation Taskforce, Div 17 Taskforce for the Integration of Science and Practice, and Inter-institutional State Senate for Oregon. She has developed and directed three clinical training sites and practiced as a psychotherapist for over 20 years.

Educated in both Canada and the United States, Elizabeth holds an Honors Psychology Bachelor’s degree from the University of Waterloo (Canada), a Masters in Counseling from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Doctoral degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has been licensed as a psychologist in the states of Wisconsin, California and Oregon and has achieved the highest practitioner distinction for psychologists-Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology.

Elizabeth’s research in the areas of clinical supervision, multidisciplinary teams, and mentoring formed the foundation of her book, Systems Approach to Supervision, which has been translated into German and Chinese and is used for training managers, counselors, educators, physicians, and coaches in relational teaching. More recently at the Oxford Institute of Coaching & Mentoring, she has presented her systems approach to construct organizational programs that intersect mentoring, communities of practice and organizational learning through the common values of social engagement. Her continued interest in organizational systems has most currently led to her research on the system effects of toxic behaviors in the workplace. Specific areas of consulting practice include:

Elizabeth has over 100 articles, chapters and presentations that represent her research and practice throughout her career. Her work on systems has been the topic of her numerous keynote addresses throughout the world. She has authored or co-authored four books.
